Deer Tick is the stage name of singer-songwriter John McCauley. On September 4, 2007 he released his first studio album, War Elephant to mixed reviews. At 21 years of age, Deer Tick has acquired a strong following by constantly touring parts of the Northeast, and self releasing cd-r's.
Deer Tick's music has often been described as a combination of folk, blues, and country with a strong grunge influence. He is known for his distinct gruff-sounding voice.
